You should always look for the dashboard. This is sort of the table on which you do all things. If you can’t find just look where you have MY BLOG written at the top of the page on the left hand side. If you put on it the mouse there should appear Dashboard. Click on it. Now you can start to experiment. If you want to add pages just look on the left hand side and click on Pages (Add new). You have to give it a title and then write whatever you want. In the box where you write you can select visual (for the advanced users they can use HTML language). You can add pictures etc…..Music and video are no longer free unfortunately so if you are so keen to put music and video files (no illegal copies please!), you have to pay.

If you wish to change the appearence or add your pictures as background, then go down to where you have appearance and click on it. If you have a wonderful idea then please do share it with the whole wide world. Please remember that what you find on the internet it is there because somebody gave some of his time to share it with you.

On the other hand remember the golden rule: if you wish something to remain a secret DON’T PUT ON THE WEBSITE.

If you did your username and password correctly (please do write your username and password correctly on a piece of paper as otherwise you can’t use your website!!), your website is already there! Don’t worry about the style and other things because the layout is ready! Now obviously as when one is following a recipe, one follows the directions in a scrupulous manner, but as one gains experience, one may try to experiment. Don’t be afraid to experiment as otherwise you won’t learn. My advice is first do a website and keep it a secret. Once you gain experience and you feel quite comfortable, you can let all the people in the world know about it!

As with many services online, once you register you have to provide a valid email address. So please check your email. Beware because some email programs put new emails in the “dustbin” so you won’t find it in the Inbox. Please check your trash bin or junk folder. Once you open it you have to click on the link provided in the email. Doing so will activate your FREE wordpress account! Voila! You can start your online adventure immediately. Enjoy your experiments.

Setting up a Website with WordPress

As children nowadays want to do their own website, we are presenting an easy to set up one using WordPress. WordPress is being used in Maltese schools. In the future, children if they wish to go for further studies than they can opt for wordpress.org. We are now using wordpress.com which should be very easy to follow.

It’s up to us Maltese to start uploading Maltese stuff in order to find it on the internet! Nobody is going to do it for us if we remain passive! Many teachers are already using ICT in class. You only need to upload it on the net.

The more you give the more help you’ll find.

Every subject, discussion, image, website we find on the internet, it is there because somebody did it for us. Now it’s your turn to share your talents with others!

It’s very simple if you use Firefox! You can download it asMP4 or MP4 HD!! There is no need to change it from FLV to MP4 as it is done automatically!

IF you click on the address book, specifically on your friend’s name, a new empty email should open up. The advantage is that the email address is already there so there is no need to write it again!
